[K] We have already discussed the trope of the lesbian nun, but even more numerous and notorious? The prison lesbian, butch warden, dyke behind bars, whatever you wanna call her. From The L Word and Bitch Slap to Gaga’s Telephone the lesbian prison inmate is seeing a kind of revival in contemporary media, but in honor of our Vintage Butches, I’d like to take this opportunity to explore the (exploitation) roots of this media stereotype in all its awful/campy/fun/degrading/sexy glory.

Born This Way-tour will Look This Way

Just three days after “The Monster Ball” has been awarded “Tour of the Year”, Lady Gaga released a teaser-picture for the stage design of the upcoming “Born This Way”-tour. Additional info regarding that pit-thing right in the middle:
“The Monster Pit” is General Admission only, and Little Monsters unlock it when they arrive to the arena or stadium.
Entry to “The Monster Pit” is relegated to the fans who have arrived first, waited all night, + dressed to “Ball.”
No dress code requirement. “Born This Way” means anything goes.
This description plus the picture make me wonder whether the “Born This Way”-concerts will be like a punk-showdown at Disney.World.
If so, count me in.
