Exclusive Stream: LP's 'Into the Wild - Live At EastWest Studios'

[K] L.P.’s new album Into The Wild came out today and if you really need anymore more incentive to go and get it, Rolling Stone is kind enough to stream the whole album. Enjoy!

L.P. live at EastWest Studios

Heather Peace - Better Than You Music Video is online

[B] Lesbians around the world are getting very excited to hear Heather Peace’s first studio album, which will be released on May 21. Since today the music video for the first single from the album Better Than You is online.

If you follow this blog you already know that my inner fangirl is totally in love with Heather Peace, so yeah I love the song and am really impressed by Heather Peace’s beautiful singing voice. But, and I’m really sorry that I have to say this, the video sucks! Don’t get me wrong seeing Heather in front of a camera is most definetly always a good thing, but this video could use a better concept, a better camera operator and a better editor.

L.P. - Halo (Beyonce Cover)

[K] In case you ever wanted to cry/have goosepumps (just wait for the last 20 sec of the song) to a (former) dance track, may I suggest L.P.s cover of Halo? While this is not the first cover by L.P. I have recommended to you and I hate to choose, Halo beats It’s Over simply because it comes with the announcment of a new album release. Hard to argue with the facts (if you get that, you - like me - have watched to much Rachel Maddow online…)

Music Videos That Made Me Gay - Today: Sarah Bettens’ “Fine”

[B] “Fine” is a song of the 2004 released first solo album of Sarah Bettens, frontwoman of K’s Choice. There were actually two videos of the song, but this one is my personal favorite. Oh and to make sure you’ll watch it to the bitter end, the last 20 seconds are just awesome!

Pop Quiz: Which is (thankfully) not like the others?

[K] In Vevo’s Youtube-Advertisment for their major artists we have

- Lady Gaga’s smoking swagger in drag

- Katy Perry’s blank stare into a ventilator

- Beyonce’s “I’d rather not name that expression on a blog read mainly by girls who like vaginas”-face

Lady Gaga ft. Sugarland “You and I”

[K] … which means: Gaga plus a Girl with a Guitar.

It’s a queer lady’s (well, this one at least) idea of musical perfection!

Born This Way-tour will Look This Way

[K] Excitement!

Just three days after “The Monster Ball” has been awarded “Tour of the Year”, Lady Gaga released a teaser-picture for the stage design of the upcoming “Born This Way”-tour. Additional info regarding that pit-thing right in the middle:

“The Monster Pit” is General Admission only, and Little Monsters unlock it when they arrive to the arena or stadium.

Entry to “The Monster Pit” is relegated to the fans who have arrived first, waited all night, + dressed to “Ball.”

No dress code requirement. “Born This Way” means anything goes.

This description plus the picture make me wonder whether the “Born This Way”-concerts will be like a punk-showdown at Disney.World.

If so, count me in.

Music Videos That Made Me Gay - Today: Two Nice Girls “Let’s Go Bonding”

[B] Today’s band of choice dates back to the late 1980s. Two Nice Girls are, what you might call a badass, lesbian punk band from Austin, Texas. They released their same-titled first album in 1989, won a GLAAD award in 1991, and split up in 1992.

Not so much punk but still very gay their video of “Let’s go Bonding”:

Oh and they even do have a song called “Queer Song”.

For more vintage-lesbian hairstyles or old-school dressing advices you definetly need to check out their youtube-channel. For more music videos that made us gay you should go here.

“Burning Down the House” - Sharron Levy

[B+K] Our most recent hair crush and alltime (I have bad memory, but I still think its kinda true) favorite talent show contestant Sharron Levy just made it to the next round of “The Voice of Germany” - and if you can pull off a striped suit and firework-shooting guitars, that’s the least you deserve.

Other things you deserve? A toaster oven (I’m that old), our growing devotion and maybe I voted for her… just maybe.

Also: this is a great day for Girls with Guitars on this blog.

(Mostly Gay) Women & Roy Orbison

[K] Speaking of music: there is this strange phenomenon, which I can’t quite explain (feel free to help me with that in the comments), but there must be something about Roy Orbison that drives female singers wild… with the desire to cover his songs.

Examples?

Sharron Levy - Ordinary World

[B+K] Look who was amazing again! Sharron Levy, whom we introduced you to a few weeks ok via this subtext-tic performance of “Are you gonna be my girl?”, was picked by her coach Nena to stay for the next round of The Voice of Germany. The judges’ decision to Keep the short-haired girl with the guitar makes it so much easier for me to choose my favorite ;-)
